Changing Tab Text

There are two ways to change tab text in Angel 7.2. The first method uses the Tab Settings Manager.

  1. Open your course and click on the Manage tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click on the Tab Settings link under the Course Settings section.
  3. In the Label column, type in the new text you would like each tab to have.

  4. Now, go to the Manage tab and choose Environment Variables under Course Settings. As you can see, ANGEL automatically creates environment variables that deal with renaming your tabs.

The second method for changing tab text is to create a single environment variable for the tabs.

  1. Open your course and click on the Manage tab at the top of the page.
  2. Choose Environment Variables under the Course Settings section.
  3. Click the Add Variable link
  4. Type TABS in the Variable Name field. In the Variable Value box, type a comma separated list specifying the new value for each tab.
  5. Save your changes.

Example: If you wanted to change the Course tab to "Syllabus," the Lessons tab to "Course Content," and the Communicate tab to "Contact," you would type:Home=Syllabus,Calendar=Calendar,Content=Course Content,Resources=Resources,People=Class List,InTouch=Contact,Reports=Reporting,Agents=Automate,Tools=Manage

The default tab settings are: Home=Course,Calendar=Calendar,Content=Lessons,Resources=Resources,InTouch=Communicate,Reports=Report,Agents=Automate,Tools=Manage

If you do NOT include a tab in the list, it WILL NOT BE DISPLAYED.

To reset your tabs back to normal just delete the TABS environmental variable that you created.
