Hide Guide by Default
ANGEL 6.0 introduced a feature, the course map, that provides an outline of the entire course and one-click access to course content. In ANGEL 7.x, the map has the same functionality but has been renamed "guide," Although this feature is generally quite useful, there may be instances where it would be desirable to disable it. We haven't discovered any way to completely disable the map. However, we are able to have the map not displayed by default. Then when a student first accesses the course, the map is hidden from view.
To turn the map off by default create a new environment variable for all users called SIDEBAR and set its value to "NONE".

Note: students can still click the "guide" link, which overrides the default and sets their personal SIDEBAR variable something else ("INDEX" or "NEW")
